Christophe Darche |
Christophe Darche (1967) is originally French and lived in The Netherlands for
a while. In the past he practised multiple martial arts like e.g. Tae Kwon Do.
This was a skill he needed to be able to function as a legionnaire.
When he met bapak Tönjes, he was impressed by the Pencak Silat. That was the incentive
for him to start practising this.
In the summer of 2002 Christophe returned to Bordeaux to work there and to live
together with his girlfriend Sophie Ancel (1970). His friend Bart van Veldhoven
urged bapak Tönjes to start a school in France. Christophe also really wanted to continue
practising. With the permission of his Guru Besar he gathered a group of people to join him. Together they
started practising the fundaments under auspicious of the group from the
Netherlands. They also became member of the French Pencak
Silat Association (AFPS).

To advance their skills and stay up to date, they visited The Netherlands at
least two
times a year. A Dutch delegation pays regular visits to Bordeaux. This
is not always entirely in favour of the association as some Dutch student
already found a nice Française.
This even resulted in the departure of Alex Metsemakers,
second assistant of
bapak Tönjes,
from the Netherlands. Nowadays he lives in
Bordeaux together with his girl Sophie Petit, who was involved
in the department Bordeaux from the start. at this moment they
are doing the trainings, and Christophe and Sophie Ancel make
time for their first daughter Saioua, born in September 2007. |

Sophie Ancel |
On the 21st of May 2005 (Christophe's birthday) both Christophe and
Sophie received a gravure for their devotion in expanding the styles of
PAMUR Kombinasi Tjimande T.K.K.D.H.B. in France. This gives them both
the right to continue their work. This means that in spite of what
happens in their relationship, they both shall have to coöperate.
Sophie Ancel and Christophe Darche stay as secretary and chairman.
Sophie Petit is treasurer and Alex Metsemakers takes the technical
department on his account.
Meanwhile the section Bordeaux has a stable core. The contacts between
the two schools are very close. In 2006 Simon Doazan from Bordeaux came
to study in the Netherlands as part of an international exchange
program. Of course this made our feeling of brotherhood even stronger
and in may 2007 we were even allowed to stay at his place for our
trainings weekend.
