Event of the year
On march 1st Guru Besar/ Pendekar bapak
Tönjes Glr. Sanjoto held
his 80th Birthday Party
in party centre "De Ambassadeur"
in Eindhoven. It was an overwhelming and unforgettable party. On
this occasion we would like to thank all the people who offered their
congratulations!

Party
On Saturday april 5th Perguruan
Pencak Silat
Manyang celebrated it´s 30th anniversary in Koog a/d Zaan,
The Netherlands. Our guru besar/pendekar, treasurer, secretary and a
board member were present.
On August 17 ten members of PAMUR Kombinasi Tjimande celebrated 63 years of independency of
Indonesia together with 8600 (!) visitors.
Demo
On may 30th (Queens Day) PAMUR Kombinasi Tjimande performed for the
Indonesian Embassy in Wassenaar. At the request of cultural attaché Mr.
Dahlan we demonstrated on a square. The ambassador and the mayor were present at
the event. Also other groups performed, e.g. kraton dance and gamelan music.
During the demonstration we showed diverse facets of our streams: solo, duo,
beladiri, PAMUR (weapons and jurus) and Tjimande (animal, dance). We played on
the bare stones in front of the podium. What we enjoyed was that a lot of people
were staying to see us, unless some were about to leave. In the end we got the
congratulations and bapak Tönjes got a lot of compliments of people who were
performing too, who knew him from old times. For our group it was a successful
day.
On November 30 we demonstrated at the
Parktheater in Eindhoven, on a female manifestation.
Exams
On April 19 and on November 15, Saturday the
exams
Tingkat Dasar I (white) and Tingkat
Dasar II (yellow) were held at the Fatimastraat in Tilburg.
Competition
On march 30, Sunday, one of our students from the Netherlands, Michael
Wong (11 years old) participated in the games at Pencak Silat
Manyang in Krommenie, The Netherlands,
and ended second in poule D7. |

International Paris Open
On march 22,
23 and 24
(Easter) the Pencak Silat games (International Paris Open)were held in Paris, organised by
the
AFPS. A delegation from Eindhoven
and Bordeaux was present. We
met each other at the Judo Institute in Paris. Team Indonesia was performing.

Workshop
On Friday the 28th of
March, PAMUR Kombinasi has led two workshops. Both were offered to students of
the PABO in Tilburg. The workshops each lasted one hour and were
aimed at showing the self-defence aspect of Pencak & Silat to the participants.
The students of the PABO are educated to teach children on primary schools.
Therefore we also included some techniques of Senam Silat. Senam Silat consists
of gymnastic exercises based on Pencak & Silat. In Indonesia the children of
primary school start every school day with Senam exercises. To make sure that
they are in good shape when attending the classes.
